When we purchased the property for the barn and I came across this tree I imagined magical moments just like this August wedding. Meet our bride and groom: Aleks and Zander
HOW and WHEN did you meet?
"Our families were friends so we grew up together. When I moved to Kenya we lost contact for a while..we reconnected at my brother's wedding and Zander and I knew we were the ones for each other. He pursued me even while living abroad."
Tell us about your proposal!
"I have always loved hiking in the mountains.. Zander booked two flights for Colorado and told me to pack my bags. I made us late and we actually missed our flights (I’m sure Zander was freaking out) but long story short we made it to the top of the mountain. Just as it started to snow, He got down on his knee and I said the best YES I’ve ever said."
What inspired your wedding décor?
"Very natural, with lots of greenery. All the flowers were wildflowers. My mom did my wildflower bouquet."
Why did you pick the venue that you chose?
"Greenleaf Barn has the homey open feel that we wanted. The natural light was exactly what we had hoped for. Getting married in the woods behind it was just like a fairy garden. It was just...right."
What was your absolute favorite part of the day?
"My favorite part of the day was the ceremony in the woods. It was just family and it was just perfect. There were even butterflies floating around everyone!"
During the ceremony, the couple created a unity canvas by mixing paint. Every marriage starts out as a blank canvas and every day is a splash of color.
"I am not one to keep a rigid schedule so the theme was very casual for the guests which made me happy to see everyone enjoying their selves..my hope was that the two families came together as a family reunion rather than a formal event. That hope came true with the help of Greenleaf Barn."
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Uber!
